Have you ever seen 3D printing technology‘s woven concrete benches?
Berlin design Studio 7.5 has teamed up with XtreeE, a paris-based 3D printing expert, to create a series of woven concrete benches that can be continuously printed.
The three outdoor benches were printed using XtreeE technology and equipment, including a six-axis 3D printing technology robot that can print concrete with extreme precision.
Studio 7.5 has used other 3D printing service materials before, but concrete has never been used.
The concrete is alternately printed with the manipulator and head of the 3D printing service robot, moving in continuous oscillations and slowly stacking the layers to produce woven patterns.
The 3D printing technology makes benches that use much less concrete than regular solid benches, effectively reducing the carbon footprint of the production process. Not only that, the bench is also much lighter than solid concrete, and the braided pattern also plays a decorative role.
